Ingredients:
For the Salad:
- · 1/2 head of green cabbage, finely shredded
- · 1/4 head of red cabbage, finely shredded
- · 2-3 medium carrots, peeled and grated (or julienned)
- · 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
For the Creamy Dressing:
- · 1/2 cup mayonnaise (as seen in the top-left image)
- · 1 to 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
- · 1 to 2 teaspoons granulated sugar (to taste)
- · 1/2 teaspoon salt
- · 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- · (Optional) 1/2 teaspoon celery seed or Dijon mustard
Instructions:
1. Prep the Vegetables (Top Left & Middle):
· Finely shred the green and red cabbage using a sharp knife or a mandoline.
· Peel and grate the carrots.
· Thinly slice the red onion.
· Place all the prepared vegetables into a large mixing bowl.
2. Make the Dressing (Top Right):
· In a separate small bowl, add the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper.
· Whisk the ingredients together until smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust the sugar, salt, or vinegar to your preference.
3. Combine :
· Pour the creamy dressing over the shredded vegetables.
· Using two large spoons or tongs, toss the mixture thoroughly until every piece of cabbage and carrot is evenly coated in the dressing.
4. Chill and Serve (Middle Right & Bottom):
· For the best flavor, cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld and the cabbage soften slightly.
· Give it a final toss before serving in a nice bowl.
